I know nine women who marched on Saturday, and I ended up joining a small local march myself. It was a beautiful experience. Now we have to find a way to stay united and keep pushing for a humane and civilized world. Here's a short film I took.

I went to the DC March with some relatives. I stayed with friends who live there now; missed all the excitement on the actual Coronation Day, but one of my friends who was there acting as a legal observer was hit by police pepper spray (my friend recovered after a while).

You were in White Plains, though? Goodness, I didn't realize we were so close, geographically. That's less than an hour's drive from where I live.

Now we have to find a way to stay united and keep pushing for a humane and civilized world.

More particularly, I would say that we need to link up with each other and go on the offensive to extend our existing rights, freedoms, and equalities. We also need to find some way to rein in our more ... boisterous fellow travelers while maintaining solidarity with them on the one hand; while reminding our more ... cautious friends of the crucial role civil disobedience and disruption played in the suffrage movement, the black-led freedom movement, the peace movement, etc.

Yes. Everything this man has done so far is beyond awful. Well, except for the repeal of the TPP.

Here is what I have decided:
1. If there is a registry of Muslims, I am going to register. Ditto if Jews are forced to register.
2. I'm going to continue to protest and to support environmental and peace actions.
3. I'm going to do all I can to support the BLM and sanctuary movements, also.

And I"m going to pray. A lot. And keep working, and just trying to get through this. The most discouraging thing is the self-righteous Trump supporters on Twitter who call themselves Christians. Whom would Jesus torture? whom would He deport? Really!!

I'm very glad you've found modes of resistance which you can commit to.

The most discouraging thing is the self-righteous Trump supporters on Twitter who call themselves Christians. Whom would Jesus torture? whom would He deport? Really!!

Heh, funnily enough, just yesterday I was rereading a passage of Staughton Lynd talking about Matthew 25, the Sheep and the Goats ("because you did/didn't do it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did/didn't do it to me." One would think this should be enough to nullify any "Christian" arguments in favor of Border Walls, Muslim registries, bombing campaigns, etc. One would think.
