Ah right, I misread your first post and thought you meant Trollope was antisemitic full-stop. From that snippet of "The EWWWstace Diamonds", I'm prepared to believe that he used to be an unthinking bigot, and then he met someone Jewish who told him, "Plz stop using the word 'Jew' as a term of opprobrium, kthxbai." Not that I know Trollope well enough to comment (really must get around to reading Glendenning's biography of him one day, as I have it somewhere in the bookpile) but if that happened, full kudos to him for recognizing that and taking steps to correct himself.

You're certainly not going too far in bringing him in - I'd be surprised if JKR hadn't read him!
