Alaska women against Palin

I saw this on the mudflats blog, and then found the link on youtube. The blogger at mudflats attended both this rally and the welcome home rally for the governer, and estimates that this protest rally had almost half again as many people attending (about 1,400) than the party (about 1,000). The welcome home party was widely reported; this was not.

Thank you for posting that link! I'm so glad to see that Alaskan women see beyond the lipstick to realize that she doesn't represent their needs well at all. (Just because she's a woman, that doesn't mean she does anything to support women's issues!) It's a real pity this wasn't featured on the news.

I loved the creativity of their signs, too. I was especially fond of "Vote Issues, Not Lipstick" and "Hockey Mama for Obama."

Yes, I was glad, too. It's one thing to be opposed to abortion on religious grounds - I can understand that - to fail to understand the separation between Church and state, to seek to impose your views on others, to fail to support rape victims, to have antediluvian views on evolution and science . . . and on it goes. I really cannot see why any thinking woman would support Palin. And I'm very happy so many Alaskans feel the same way!
