No, she's not, unfortunately! And that's one of the things I wanted to get across - she raised him from the age of 12, and couldn't really give him everything he needed. They are just too alike. She succeeded here in the major things, but the minor things matter as well, and she very much regrets her failure there. I'm glad you liked and understood the story. (This is part of the backstory that would have come out during the trial in my nonexistent WIP.)
