And no, I don't see Snape as extremely tall - there is no canon support for saying so, IMHO - though I wouldn't describe him as short, exactly. I'd put him as tall-average, somewhere in the 5' 9" to 5' 11" range. Thus, tall enough to be obviously taller than Narcissa, (who's described as a tall woman, and who's therefore probably around 5'7" or so), but equally obviously shorter than Sirius, who's over 6 feet. That's the way I see it, anyway.
Back to the family dynamic - I can't understand people who insist that Snape hates children, or would be a terrible father, when in canon he's (in some ways, at least) a *better* 'father' to Harry than Sirius is. Again, that's just the way I see it.
