moral education

One thing that puzzles me about the Wizarding World is how little thought goes into moral and ethical training, especially with the use of magic. At most, people are taught "The Dark Arts are Bad," but there is nothing approaching a real wrestling with the issues that magic brings to humanity. For all the talk about Wizards and Muggles being equally human, there is little in the books to suggest that is the case. And folks wonder why Voldemorts and Grindelwalds crop up all the time.

As I said before, it reveals a certain naivete on JKR's part that I find unacceptable in light of her attempt to "teach" children through her books.
