I think we are among the few thinking these things! The responses on the Harry Potter essays site were more negative than not, and that surprised me. I just find all the Dursley stuff painful to read, and it's amazing that so many people don't see a mixed message there. Also, the only heavy girl we see is Millicent Bulstrode, whom Harry and Ron compare to a troll - with no negative consequences for them. It isn't quite so bad as far as the grown women go - in addition to Dolores Umbridge, we have Madame Maxime and Mrs. Weasley - but it's still a very mixed message, IMHO.
