I am honored to be friended by you! I don't remember anymore how I came across your journal; probably back in August/September, when I was devastated by the ending of HBP and was looking all over the internet for essays that would help me make sense of it. I think I came across your site, Logospilgrim's , and John Granger's pretty much simultaneously, and I very much enjoyed both your fanfic and your recommendations. I also think it's neat that people who are practising Christians, though of different denominations (I Catholic, you Evangelical, John and Logospilgrim Orthodox) are the most thoughtful (IMHO!) in perceiving Snape's true nature. Well - that last comment shows a lot of confidence in our interpretation, doesn't it! )
I do agree with you that Dumbledore was slowly dying through the school year, and that his death was therefore inevitable. The idea that the liquid in the basin was the horcrux is fascinating, though! And it certainly explains Snape's revulsion at that moment. Because I think he truly loathes Voldemort - more even than he loathes Harry, though his dislike for the boy does seem entirely sincere as well.
Thanks for reading and commenting! Oh - you also agree with me that Snape's patronus is a griffin! Neat!
