Thanks, Carla! Snape's gentleness to, and concern for, both Narcissa and Draco really stood out for me, as well. And I also see him as being loyal to Dumbledore, even on the tower. As I see it; it's not that Dumbledore asked Severus to kill him; he would never ask that of a young man he saw as a son. Rather, he asked him to do what was necessary to keep protecting Harry. Snape's trust in Dumbledore's plan - now, *that's* an interesting idea! And I like it. I had thought, partly because of his emotional reaction at the end of the book, that Severus was being blindly obedient.
I, too, would really, really love to see what Snape makes of Luna in the classroom. I think he'd be bewildered by her. He might feel a very uncomfortable mixture of genuine irritation and equally genuine empathy. What's very interesting is that, after HBP, I have become a mild Harry/Luna shipper, and Harry and Severus are very alike. ;)
