A couple of friends took this one, and yes - this is how I always come out. There were some tricky questions, though!

You Are An INFJ
The Protector

You live your life with integrity, originality, vision, and creativity.
Independent and stubborn, you rarely stray from your vision - no matter what it is.
You are an excellent listener with almost infinite patience.
You have complex feelings, and you take great care to express them.

In love, you see relationships as an opportunity to connect and grow.
You enjoy relationships when they are improving and changing. You can't stand stagnation.

At work, you stay motivated and happy... as long as you are working toward a dream you support.
You would make a great photographer, alternative medicine guru, or teacher.

How you see yourself: Hardworking, ethical, and helpful

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Manipulative, weak, and unstable

Prompted by your post, I finally took this, and got the result I always do: INFP (http://bohemianspirit.livejournal.com/102527.html). ;-) My son has never taken the Myers-Briggs test, but he and I both agree he fits the ESFP profile to a T. It certainly explains not only where we clashed--most notably in his extroverted "I'm bored! Let's do something exciting!" temperament with my "I'm stressed. Let's just kick back at home and be mellow."

I agree with you that several of the questions were tricky. Mostly, I thought that both answers were true, and had trouble deciding which one to choose. For example, "You think conflict is: A normal part of relationships, or, Hard for you to deal with." Well... both. A mature understanding recognizes that conflict is just part of life, and doesn't freak out when it occurs, but it's also true that I don't LIKE conflict and I hate having to deal with it. (I'm talking about genuine interpersonal conflict, mind you, not debating abstractly about differing ideas--which you know is something I enjoy! Though sometimes in real life I have to remember where to draw the line between the two...) Maybe the idea behind the question is that some people hate conflict and strive to avoid it and/or resolve it ASAP, while others aren't emotionally bothered by it and can live with it unresolved--or, in the extreme cases, they actually thrive on drama. In which case, count me firmly in the former camp.

Hi! I enjoyed your comments on being an infp (my sister is, too) and also this: Mostly, I thought that both answers were true, and had trouble deciding which one to choose. For example, "You think conflict is: A normal part of relationships, or, Hard for you to deal with." Well... both.

Exactly! This is the kind of question that drove me wild. And, when I was taking the test, I thought I might come out "thinking" rather than "feeling" - but somehow, I got what I always get.

That's a nice one :).

I agree about the trickiness of some of the questions. In these tests, I also have trouble with the fact that my reactions in hypothetic situations may be different from what they are in actual situations.

That's a good point about the hypotheticals, and hadn't occurred to me in quite that way. In my case, when reading a question about a party, for example, I'd be thinking: well, it depends. I usually do go and introduce myself to people, but, if it's too loud or I am tired, I might not. And so on. In other words, my problem was that I tended to think of two or three hypotheticals for each question!

I'm actually not sure the description given of an infj fits me, but it is pretty positive. (And a friend who read it thinks it's quite a bit like me, except for the job choices which are a bit off.)

I took that tricky test twice and answered persona and person. They came out INFJ and INTJ...you seem to have similar in yours, with your persona and person hopefully merged. I am new to personality tests. I'm sure I tweaked the answers a little...I am still more INTJ (depressingly). Thanks for quietly introducing me to these canny little mindscans.
