And I would appreciate some feedback, if it's okay to ask! Just skip this if you are not interested. A brief taste of my novel is under the cut.
Honor is a standalone science fiction novel for young adults, complete at 80,600 words.
What would you do if whatever choice you made betrayed someone you loved? That is 16-year-old Kiril Tesurik's situation. He must choose between becoming a criminal and casting off the rest of his family in order to rescue his little brother, or letting Kennet die in the mines of Telanan. This is the story of Kiril's choice, how and why he makes it, and its consequences for him, his brother, and the rest of their family.
(Boilerplate to be varied depending on agent/publisher): A brief story from Honor was published in issue 29 of Mythic Circle. In addition, as a teen librarian, I have a wide-ranging knowledge of YA literature and know what appeals to readers in this age group. I admire the work of several of the authors you represent, and would be delighted to be in their company. I look forward to hearing from you.
Etc.
I know this needs changes - I HATE blowing my own horn! So I'll be grateful for any constructive criticism any of you can give me. TIA!
