Stump and Stone (a drabble)

Here is a brief drabble I wrote in the Room of Requirement on the last day of Terminus. It came so easily to me that I'm half afraid I may be copying - if someone has seen something like it before, please tell me!

He heard the words, "Do not move!" and found he had no choice but to obey, for he could not locate his arms and legs. The army surged round him, a centaur's fetlock brushing against him, and he wanted to leap aside. He wanted to shout his rage and defiance, but his mouth would not open. Was he dead, then? What had she done to him, her loyal servant?

The clearing emptied, and became silent; the silence grew until his ears ached with it. Then he found he could move. He looked up at his mistress, who was as cold and stern and beautiful as the moonlight, and waited for her command.

"Well, my servant," the witch said. "We have lost the boy. What shall we do now?"

I don't read fanfic from this fandom as a rule unless it comes very highly recommended or is written by someone I trust. So I'm not the best person to ask about whether this has been done before -- but it's very good and I enjoyed it!

Thanks - glad you enjoyed it. Actually, I'm a bit shocked that fanfic from this fandom even exists, and I'm quite surprised that I wrote some!

Missed this when it first came out - but very nice! I spent a couple of minutes trying to fit Narcissa Malfoy in there somewhere before I realised where it came from!
