This was linked in a post on mudflats about AKA's beloved republican grandmother. She sounds like my democrat grandmothers; I want that republican party back! and that is one reason why I want Obama to win in a landslide. The haters, the neocons, and all their ilk will have been thoroughly repudiated. The good, old fashioned Republicans can then kick those losers out and rebuild their party. I hope.

Cardigrl, those are just individuals like you and me. They are not in the position of the Roves, the Rumsfelds, the Wolfowitzes, and the others of their ilk. THOSE are the haters and neocons I am talking about. The incidents you are speaking of are shameful, of course, but I would like citations (2 apiece) for each of them, from reputable news sources, before I accept them as fact. The same, of course, goes for similar rumored behavior from McCain/Palin supporters - the signs saying "terrorist", the dead bear cub, the slashed tires, and so forth.

There are nuts on both sides. But the power people like Rove have had over this country, and over the republican party, horrifies me. It did NOT used to be like this. To take just one example - environmental issues - I can remember bipartisan environmental regulations from the Nixon era.

Just my two cents, as always.
